Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an essential part of CQ Rescue. The CQ Rescue team is quite small but covers a huge area.
Our volunteers help us to have a presence across the region, covering Bowen Basin, Whitsunday, Isaac and Mackay Regional Councils and are a friendly face for everyone that supports us.
Our volunteers are invaluable to the service CQ Rescue delivers and they support us in so many ways, including but not limited to the collections of donation boxes, attending presentations, helping with events and patient liaisons.
CQ Rescue holds regular fundraising events throughout the year, which range from Emergency Services Day, the Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run, Rescue Chopper Week and our exclusive ‘One Night In…’ Gala dinner. There is a lot of planning that goes into these events and a variety of tasks to be completed, so no matter what your skills, there will be something you can help with.
“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
As well as the events organised by CQ Rescue there are many fundraisers held by social groups, community organisations and businesses to benefit CQ Rescue. To name a few; the River 2 Reef Charity Ride, Battle of the Mines Rugby Tournament and Tee Off for Lift Off Golf Day all benefit from the valuable knowledge, time and efforts of our volunteers.
If you have some spare time and have been looking for a new idea of how to fill it – why not become a CQ Rescue volunteer and help us with our vitally important work. We’d love to welcome you to our team!
GIVE YOUR TIME today to help save lives
As one of the busiest helicopter rescue services in Queensland, the CQ Rescue team is always working hard to raise awareness and funds required to keep our service going. If you have been looking for something a little extra and want to help our vital community service, become a CQ Rescue volunteer and help keep the chopper in the air.
“Being a CQ Rescue volunteer is a wonderful way to give back to my community but it’s also a great family to be a part of. ”
